Skylark Lasers wins £2.3m from Innovate UK

Congratulations to Skylark Lasers on being awarded a £2.3m grant from Innovate UK and just under 10% of the total £25m quantum competition award.

This grant is believed to be the largest grant award into a quantum technology company in Scotland and comes hot off the announcement of Ben Szutor as the new CEO of the business having been at the forefront of driving recent progress as CTO. 

As delivery lead for this project Skylark will develop quantum gravity sensors aimed at delivering next generation navigation systems for maritime and shipping. Innovate UK research reveals that the economic impact to the UK of a five-day disruption to global navigation satellite systems has been estimated at £5.2bn.
